Dee Cody, Sr., 90, died on Wednesday, May 25, 2016.
He died at his East Brainerd home.
He was born March 4, 1926 to the late Virgil and Zona Hill Cody in Clarkrange, Tn.. He moved to Chattanooga in the early 60s.
Dee was a successful entrepreneur. He owned and operated “Cody Motor Co.” for 50 years. He loved his family, his friends and his work. He was loved by all, had a smile that could light up a room, and a laugh that was contagious.
He was preceded in death by his daughter Janet Jetter, four brothers, Lindsey, Leonard, Noble and Eugene Cody, and two sisters, Lucille and Lurlene.
Dee is survived by his wife of 50 years, Wanda Sue Cody, son, Dee Cody, Jr. (Tina), three daughters, Kim Ledford (Russell), all of Chattanooga, Charlotte Delk, of Muncie, IN, Deedie Price, of Jamestown, TN, sister, Margie South, of Chicago, 9 grandchildren, Amanda Cagle (Adam), Erin Cody, Christopher Ledford, Heather Cody, Chea Price, Danny Greer, Tammy Greer, Shonda Elam, Stephanie Skirvin , many nieces and nephews, several great grandchildren, and extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, in the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Reverend David Hall officiating. Entombment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens in Hixson, Tennessee.
The family will receive friends from 2–4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Friday, May 27, and from 12–2 p.m. on Saturday, May 28, at the funeral home.
