U.S. Navy Veteran Retired As A Captain With The Chattanooga Fire Department

Jack Babb
Jack Herbert Babb 87, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, died on Thursday, May 26, 2016 in a local health care facility. 

Jack was born in Henry County, Ga., on Nov. 4, 1928, to the late Marvin Kellett and Mattie Mae Babb. 

He served our country in the United States Navy. He was a retired captain for the Chattanooga Fire Department. He was also a retired plumber and steam fitter and recently worked for Enterprise Car Rental as a driver. 

He was preceded in death by his sister, Nancy Sue Williamson.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Hilda Hunt Babb; son, Jack Kellett (Susan) Babb; two grandchildren, Derek Edward Babb and Jackson Kellett Babb, all of Chattanooga, and a step-daughter, Sherry Williams, along with several great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 28, at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
