Morning Pointe of Chattanooga at Shallowford residents took cookies and homemade candy to the Chattanooga Police Department in celebration of National Police Week. Residents visited the Police Services Center and shook hands with police Sgt. Traci May and Officer Casey Cleveland to personally thank them for their service.

As a part of the Life Enrichment Program, the assisted living community participates in annual holidays and observances to acknowledge the individuals who protect and serve others.

The annual observance was established in 1962 by President John F.
Kennedy, who signed a proclamation that designated May 15 as Peace Officers Memorial Day, and the week that it falls on would be celebrated as National Police Week.
