Erlanger Medical Staff Treats 143 Individuals, Including 1 Who Died, During Ironman Event

Officials with Erlanger Emergency Services reported five Ironman athletes arrived at the Baroness Hospital during the event for medical treatment. One competitor died. Complaints included shoulder injuries and shortness of breath. 

Erlanger medical staff also provided treatment to one spectator and 137 athletes onsite. Complaints included blisters, dehydration, nausea, vomiting, muscle cramps and shortness of breath.
