Cassie Dianne Ballard Pierce, 63, of Cartersville and formerly of Chatsworth, Georgia, passed away Saturday May 21, 2016 at WellStar Kennestone Hospital in Marietta.

She was the daughter of the late J. W. and Agnes Welch Ballard; and was also preceded in death by her sister, Jan Davis.

Dianne was a loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother. She loved her son and grandkids more than anything in the world. Dianne wanted nothing more than to see her grandkids grow up, but the Lord saw her growing tired and called her home. We are infinitely grateful for her and will be longing to see her again cancer free.

She is survived by her husband, Jim Pierce of the residence; son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Mary Pierce of Acworth; sister and brother-in-law, Jeleta Gazaway and George Gazaway Jr. of Dalton; grandchildren, Leighton Pierce and Landon Pierce; niece and her husband, Monica and Mike Gillespie; nephews, Chris Gazaway, Jeff Gazaway, Mike Gazaway, Zach Gazaway, Kolten Davis and Kaleb Davis; great-niece and great nephew, Emily Gillespie and Ben Gillespie; and other great-nieces and great-nephews.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 25 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Love Funeral Home with the Rev. Alfred Turley officiating. Burial will follow in Murray Memorial Gardens with Chris Gazaway, Jeff Gazaway, Mike Gazaway, Zach Gazaway, Mike Gillespie and Ben Gillespie serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 24 from 5 to 8 p.m.

Words of comfort may be sent to the family at www.lovefuneralhomega.com. Love Funeral Home, 1402 N. Thornton Ave., Dalton (across from Hamilton Medical Center) is in charge of arrangements.
