1 Person Shot After Confrontation At Booker T. Washington State Park

Sheriff deputies and Chattanooga Police officers were dispatched to a shooting incident  which reportedly occurred at or near the basketball courts at Booker T. Washington State Park on Sunday night.

The victim of the shooting was located after he had left the scene and appeared to be in stable condition. He was transported non-emergency by Hamilton County EMS to Erlanger Hospital with what appears to be non-life threatening injuries.

Authorities said further investigation indicated the confrontation actually occurred at the park, but information was received that the shooting may have actually occurred on Webb Road Inside the Chattanooga city limits.

Officials said, "There is no known motive for the shooting, unknown if gang-related at this point and no other information can be released at this time, and more will be provided as the investigation continues."

Booker T. Washington State Park is adjacent to Harrison Bay State Park on Highway 58 at Lake Chickamauga.
