After playing to a 0-0 tie through the first half, the Chattanooga Football Club would score twice in the second half to earn a 2-1 win over visiting Nashville FC. The win gives CFC a 2-0 league record and 3-0 overall record.
A Nashville penalty kick was punched over the cross bar by CFC keeper Gregga Hartley in the first few minutes of the second half energizing the over 5,000 fans.
CFC's Samuel Goni scored in the 54th minute and Luke Winter scored in the 62nd minute.
Nashville's Denzel Woods scored in the 87th minute but the home team would hold on for the 2-1 win.
Chattanooga hosts the Hank Steinbrecher Cup on May 27th and 28th. The Steinbrecher Cup is a national tournament that crowns the best amateur side in America.
Chattanooga won the two day, four team tournament last year at Finley. Chattanooga will open play on Friday at 7:30. The winners of semifinal games will play on Saturday at 7:30.
