GCHS Student Sierra Sanders Honored At Republican Statesman's Dinner

Grundy County High School graduating senior Sierra Sanders attended the 40th Annual Tennessee Republican Statesmen's Dinner last Friday, held at the Music City Center in Nashville which included a tribute to Fred Thompson and featured keynote speaker SC Governor Nikki Haley.

Ms. Sanders was the guest of the Grundy County Republican Party, her ticket was sponsored by the Grundy/Marion Conservative Women's Club for her exemplary leadership skills. scholastic achievement as well as her recent commitment to join the Army Reserve upon graduation.

Ms. Sanders plans to attend MTSU, with a year of college credits already completed during her time at GCHS, and then on to Ft. Sam Houston for their army graduate program in anesthesia nursing to become a CRNA. 
 
Ms. Sanders high school achievements include:
 
2012-13 and 2014-15 HOSA president;
2013 FBLA Business Math fifth place regionals - attended state conference representing GCHS;
2013-14 HOSA treasurer;
2014-2016 student council secretary;
2014 DECA Restaurant and Food Service Management Top Five regionals - attended state conference representing GCHS;
2014 FBLA state competitor in emerging business issues;
2014 NHS treasurer;
2015-16 Spanish club reporter;
2015 DECA regionals 1st place role play 1 and 3rd place role play 2 RFSM;
2016 DECA regionals restaurant and food service management 3rd place 2016 DECA 5th place RFSM state level national competitor; and 
Class of 2016 top quarter honors student (diploma of distinction).
