William Joseph Rom, 91,of Cleveland, Tennessee, passed away Thursday, April 28, 2016, in a local health care facility.
He was a member of St. Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church. William served his country in WWII, where he was a recipient of both the Bronze Star and Purple Heart.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife Mary Rom;and his parents, Joseph and Mary Maurin Rom.
He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, William Michael (Joan) Rom, Huntington, NY and Curtiss Joseph (Susan) Rom, Cleveland, TN; grandchildren, Kristin (Shawn) Keys, William Rom, Nicole Rom, Curtiss J. Rom, Alan Bryant, Stacy Bryant Farris, Jaime Bryant (Mason) Followell and William John Rom; great-grandchildren, Lexi Bryant, Alison Bryant, Robbie Bryant, Rhett Bryant, Jack Mason Followell, Skylar Bryant, Christopher Keys, Tyler Keys, Jason Rom and Alayna Bryant; sister, Rosemary Rom (Harry) McLaughlin; and numerous niece and nephews.
A Mass of the Resurrection will be held Tuesday, May 3, at 12 p.m. at St. Therese Catholic Church with Father Mike Nolan officiating. Interment will follow in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
Arrangements are being handled by Grissom-Serenity Funeral Home.
