"Stamp Out Hunger" Initiative Scheduled For May 14

  • Friday, April 29, 2016

On May 14, the U.S. Postal Service and the National Association of Letter Carriers will host their 24th annual “Stamp Out Hunger” initiative, a major community food drive effort supporting the Chattanooga Area Food Bank.

Chattanooga area residents are encouraged to leave non-perishable food next to their mailbox prior to their regular scheduled mail delivery. Postal workers will collect these food donations throughout the day as they deliver mail.

All food will be delivered to the Chattanooga Area Food Bank and redistributed throughout the community. Last year, area letter carriers collected over 164,000 lbs. of food, which equates to nearly 137,000 meals.
