Montrell Besley Kicks Off Campaign For School Board

Montrell Besley will be running for a seat on the Hamilton County School Board, District 4.  He is a Chattanooga native and father to three kids. He grew up in the Alton Park community, where he currently resides.  

He is a graduate from Austin Peay State University with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Health and Human Performance and attained his Masters of Science degree in Public and Community Health.

Mr. Besley is involved in the betterment of the community with over 15 years of youth development and community relations experience.  Mr. Besley said he is deeply committed to the success of the city’s youth and confident that he possess the combination of leadership abilities; such as, relationship building skills, management experience, education and vision.

Improving teacher recruitment and retention, fighting for school equality and developing community schools are some of the main goals he would like to implement into the school system. 

Mr. Besley's official kickoff will be Saturday from 7 p.m.-12 a.m. at 1014 M.L. King Blvd.
