Lee’s Wind Ensemble To Present Concert Tuesday

  • Friday, April 22, 2016
The Lee University Wind Ensemble will perform its last concert of the semester on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. in the Conn Center.

Dr. David Holsinger, conductor, will be joined by Associate Conductor Winona Gray Holsinger. Three graduate conductors, Daven Haskett, Seok Joon Keun, and Timothy Linley, will also join them.

The evening will include diverse musical styles, from Frank LaRocca’s minimalistic masterpiece, “No Strings,” to Claude T. Smith’s composition, “Emperata Overture.”  The concert will also feature two works, written 100 years apart, but based on the same musical source, Tschesnokov’s “Salvation is Created” and the Mark Camphouse 2002 composition, “In Memoriam.”

The Lee Wind Ensemble is composed of 53 student musicians.
Under the direction of Dr. Holsinger, the group is committed to the highest level of performance of instrumental ensemble literature for winds and percussion, and performs for special concerts on the Lee University campus, officials said.

The concert is a free, non-ticketed event and is open to the public.
