Robert Wade
Robert Leroy “Bob” Wade, 81, of Chattanooga, died on Friday, February 5, 2016 at his home.
He was a member of Cross Culture Christian Church and was retired from AT&T as a supervisor. Mr. Wade Attended the University of Tennessee on a basketball and football scholarship until his sports career was cut short by a knee injury.
Mr. Wade was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Mary Wade; brother, Jimmy Wade and sister, Betty Spencer.
Survivors include his wife, Phyllis Houck Wade; four children, Robbie (Gaye) Wade, Roger Wade, Rhonda Whitt and Richie (Shannon) Wade, all of Chattanooga; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Earl Wade and Curtis Wade, both of Lynchburg, Va.; several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 13, at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, 404 South Moore Road with the Reverend Korbett Swope officiating. The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
