Leola McClain, 88, of Pikeville, Tennessee, died on Thursday, February 4, 2016.
She pastored for over 55 years of her life. She was a former pastor of the Wheeler Addition Church of God. She also worked for Vaughn Chevrolet for 35 years. She was an avid gardener. She loved flowers and the outdoors. Rev. McClain was a member of several clubs and civic organizations; Home Demonstrators, Chairman of the Elderly, President and Founder of the Black Ladies Conference, East Chattanooga Region.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph McClain Sr.; parents, James and Lola Bennett; and her brothers, Ed, Bobby,Varnell and James Hector.
She is survived by her children, Ralph (Bertha) McClain, Jr. and Faye Smith; sister, Janell Brock; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.
A Celebration of Leola’s life will be held in the Wheeler Addition Church of God on Tuesday, Feb. 9, at 1 p.m. CDT. Burial will be in the Pikeville Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 10-8 p.m. CDT on Monday, Feb. 8, also at the church.
