Brandon Bettis, 25, Arrested For Home Invasion; 2 Other Suspects Being Sought

Brandon Bettis, 25, was arrested after a home invasion early Monday morning, and two other suspects are being sought.

Chattanooga Police responded to the 1100 block of Thomas Lane at 6:30 a.m. on the report of a home invasion robbery. The suspects entered the home of the victims, James Shrum, 47, and Hillary Schooley, 25.

 The victims were wakened and threatened with an electronic stun gun by one of the suspects. The victims' money and belongings were gathered by two additional suspects. One of the victims disarmed the suspect holding the stun gun then chased him down and detained him until police arrived. The two other suspects left in an SUV style vehicle.

 Investigators are pursuing leads and the investigation is ongoing. Bettis was interviewed by Chattanooga Police Robbery investigators. He was arrested and booked into the Hamilton County Jail after being treated at a local hospital for injuries sustained during his apprehension by the victim.

He is charged with aggravated burglary, aggravated robbery, (additional outstanding warrants include driving on revoked driver's license, evading arrest, resist stop halt frisk, reckless endangerment, and failure to appear)

Chattanooga Police ask anyone with information regarding this crime to call 423-698-2525.  The investigation is ongoing and more information will be released when available.
