D-II State Duals: Baylor, Father Ryan in Duals Finals

Baylor is 2x Defending State Champ

Tonight at 8 p.m. at the Cow Palace in Franklin, No.3 Baylor goes for a three-peat and top-ranked Father Ryan looks to prove why its No.1 in the state.

It's difficult to beat a team three times in one season, but Father Ryan is favored to win its eighth state duals title as it takes on the Red Raiders going for their 10th.

The road to the finals: Ryan beat Franklin Road Academy, 60-21, in the quarters and McCallie, 37-31, in the semis, while Baylor beat St. Benedict, 74-0, in the quarters and Christian Brothers, 39-15, in the semis.

Saturday's Tickets: $10 each ... parking is $5

Baylor, which is the Middle/East Region champ, has won nine state duals titles, including five in the last eight years, while West Region champ Ryan has claimed seven state titles the last coming in 2010. Ryan won the initial state duals in 1988.

Ryan, beat Baylor last week, 46-20, and also beat the Red Raiders, 34-23, in the Cleveland Duals in December.
