Betty Virginia Scott, 84, of Rocky Face, Georgia, died on Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at the local hospital.
Betty was born on April 11, 1931 in Dalton to the late A.W. Hilley and Lucille Smith Hilley; and was also preceded in death by her brother, Willis Hilley.
Betty was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and of the Baptist faith. Betty was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother.
Mrs. Betty Virginia Scott is survived by her husband of 58 years, Jerry Michael Scott; sons, Ronnie Scott of Calhoun, GA and Gary Scott of Tunnel Hill, GA; daughters, Janet Scott of Chatsworth, GA and Terry Scott of Augusta, GA; brothers, Grady Hilley of Pontiac, MI; sister, Michelle Teasley of Dalton, GA; grandchildren,Mendy Rosen, Shane Biles, Josh Scott, Toshia Haulk, Charlie Lucas Calhoun and Teresa Perkins; and great-grandchildren, Laura Rosen, Bryson Biles, Kelsey Biles and Thomas Haulk.
Services to celebrate the life of Betty Virginia Scott will be held Saturday, Feb. 6 at 11 a.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Michael Watkins officiating. She will be laid to rest at Whitfield Memorial Gardens with Josh Scott, Ric Rosen, Shane Biles, Bryson Biles and Kenny Cunningham serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 5-8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 5 and after 9 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 6 until the service hour.
Ponders Melrose Chapel, Dalton, has charge of the arrangements.
