Vicki Lynn Miller Woods, 64, a life-long resident of Hixson, slipped peacefully from Earth to be with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Thursday, February 11, 2016.

Vicki was born in Athens, TN on July 9, 1951, to Robert Davis and Thelma Ruth Seals Miller.

She lived with a passion of spending time with her family and loved ones, especially her grandchildren. She retired from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Tennessee with 20 years of service; was an avid collector of owl figurines, paintings, dishes etc. She enjoyed going to festivals with her favorite being the Yellow Daisy Festival at Stone Mountain and the Apple Festival in Ellijay. Purple was her absolute favorite color, and she would wear it daily.

She was preceded in death by her “Daddy”, Robert Davis Miller and infant son Donny Joe Miller

She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Melvin Douglas Woods; her mother Thelma Ruth Miller; two sons, Danny Eugene (Missy) Woods of Ringgold, GA and Craig Douglas (Kelly) Woods of Tunnel Hill, GA; eight grandchildren: Jennifer McAvoy, Axy Campbell, Jeremiah Sehon, Cody Sehon, Maggie Woods, Nathanael Woods, Colby Woods, and Jensen Sehon; and three great grandchildren: Bryanna McAvoy, Tryston McAvoy and Joseph Sehon.

A funeral service to commemorate her life will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 15, in the funeral home chapel with Minister Craig Woods officiating. 

Interment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens. 

The family will receive friends for visitation on Sunday, Feb. 14, from 4-8 p.m. and on Monday, Feb. 15, from 12-2 p.m. at the funeral home.
