Hamilton Heights Christian Academy announced today that varsity basketball players Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Nickeil Alexander-Walker, both nationally ranked juniors, will take part in the NBA All-Star weekend in Toronto, Canada.

Alexander has been chosen to participate in the NBA’s second Basketball without Borders Global camp. Players are selected based on their outstanding basketball skills and leadership abilities.

The camp will be held Feb. 12–14 and will assemble the top players from each regional Basketball without Borders from the previous year, along with other elite players.

The camp provides a unique opportunity for the players to improve their basketball talents and get to know other basketball players from all over the world. Players attending the camp will also attend and participate in NBA All-Star activities throughout the weekend.

Campers will be coached by FIBA/NBA players and coaches. Nike is the presenting partner for the camp.

Alexander plays for the grassroots program Nike Canada U-Play. He has verbally committed to play collegiately at the University of Florida and is currently ranked as the 40th high school prospect in the latest ESPN class of 2017.

Walker received his invitation through his participation with Under Armour’s CanadaElite grass roots program. He will take part in an event with Foot Locker where Steph Curry, the reigning NBA Most Valuable Player with the Golden State Warriors, will reveal his new Under Armour tennis shoes. Walker also will participate in camps sponsored by Under Armour, along with other activities throughout the weekend.

Walker has 13 NCAA Division I offers, including Southern California, Virginia Tech, Auburn, Miami, and Illinois and is ranked as the No. 68 prospect by 247Sports.

Walker spent several minutes Saturday talking with Southern Cal head coach Andy Enfeld following the Hawks’ game against Oak Hill Academy in the McCallie Classic.

Both players have helped lead the nationally ranked Hawks, nationally ranked by MaxPreps.com,  to a 22-3 record this season.
