Jewish Federation Raises $14,335 To Replace Vehicle Lost To Arson

  • Thursday, February 11, 2016

The Jewish Federation needed to raise $20,000 to replace one of the two vehicles lost to arson on Jan. 31. With donations from the Chattanooga community and insurance the Federation has been able to raise $14,335 towards the goal.

“We would like to thank the first responders and donors not only for the financial resources given to us, but for the outpouring of care and concern for our safety," said Michael Dzik, executive director of the Jewish Federation. "On behalf of the Board of Directors and staff of the Jewish Federation, we thank you."

The Federation is still seeking a gently used, four door, full-sized, sedan with low mileage that is reliable to transport constituents to doctor's appointments, outpatient surgery, medication pick-up and the grocery store among other services needed by the elderly at risk members of the community. The Federation would consider the donation of a vehicle for this purpose, or donation of a vehicle for resale in order to purchase the appropriate vehicle.

Financial contributions can be made to the vehicle fund online by going to www.jewishchattanooga.com. The donation box is on the right side of the page below the purple button. To donate financially by phone please contact the Federation’s office at 493-0270. To donate vehicles please contact Mr. Dzik at 893-5443.
