Northwest Georgia’s husband and wife duo, the Little Country Giants will be celebrating the release of their fifth album, DeadReckoning, with a performance at Barking Legs, Feb. 25.
Review for Little Country Giants:
The Little Country Giants recorded their new album, Dead Reckoning, in their North Georgia historic farmhouse, with ZAC recording engineer Tony Terrebone, and producer Dax Rossetti. The album artwork was created by award winning graphic novelist, Emily Haworth-Booth.
Dead Reckoning, was inspired by the issues and the struggles surrounding the constant cycle of life and death, love and heartache, and like a sailor lost at sea, using “dead reckoning” to navigate through it all.
The Little Country Giants have been voted “Atlanta’s Best Folk Act” by Creative Loafing Magazine (2005 and 2006), and have been awarded with the “Emerging Artists of the Year” by the Rome Area Council for the Arts in Rome, Ga.
Their music has been featured in a handful of award winning films, including the documentary about Georgia’s organic farmers, GROW, which uses music by the Little Country Giants as the soundtrack. One half of the songwriting pair, Russell Cook, had the opportunity to work with T. Bone Burnett and perform in the Stephen King, John Mellancamp, T. Bone Burnett musical, the Ghost Brothers of Darkland County, in 2013.
