The Bank of America Charitable Foundation has made a gift to the Dalton State Foundation in support of student scholarships, College officials recently announced.

“We are proud to have earned this kind of philanthropic support from the Bank of America Charitable Foundation for our students,” said Dalton State Foundation director David Elrod. “The local Bank of America and its president, Will Pridgen, have been friends of Dalton State for two decades, and this latest investment in the College demonstrates Bank of America’s outstanding corporate citizenship in our community and their partnership with us in providing unimpeded access to higher education opportunities.”

The gift will sustain financial need-based scholarship awards for the 2016-2017 academic year.

“On a campus where more than two-thirds of our students seek need-based financial aid in order to attend classes at one of the most affordable colleges in the country, gifts like those from Bank of America have immediate and long-lasting impact on the institution and, more importantly, in the lives of our students who benefit from this kind of generosity,” Mr. Elrod said.

Donors interested in learning more about scholarship opportunities at Dalton State may contact the Dalton State Foundation at 706-272-4473 or at foundation@daltonstate.edu.
