James E. Alder, 82, of Whitwell, Tennessee, passed away Monday, February 8, 2016.
He was preceded in death by his son, Eric Alder; and parents, William and Mary Hancock Alder.
He is survived by his children, Roger Alder, Vickie Alder and Andy Alder all of Jasper, Jimmy (Roxann) Alder, Christy (John) Stephenson, Debra (Terry) Pritchett all of Whitwell, Cindy Alder of Alabama and David Alder of Pikeville; sister, Verna Poe; brothers, Billy and Jackie Alder; grandchildren, James Ray Pritchett, Byron Pritchett, Justin Alder, Robert Alder, Jackie Alder, Megan Fowler, Rodney Alder, Cody Pittman, Mikey Pittman, Ashley Nunley, Noah Alder, Josh Stephenson and T.J. Day; and several great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 11 in the funeral home chapel with Reverends Jerry Merciers and Jerry Basham officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Olive Cemetery.
Family will receive friends from 1-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 10 at the Whitwell Memorial Funeral Home, who has charge of the arrangements.
