Contra Dance For Everyone Set For Saturday

  • Thursday, December 8, 2016

Chattanooga Traditional Dance Society presents its monthly Contra Dance for Everyone on Saturday.  Featuring calling by Beadle and music by Turnip the Beet, the dance takes place from 7:30-11 p.m. at Brainerd United Methodist Church, Lundy Hall, 4315 Brainerd Road. Admission is $8 or $5 for students and seniors.

Everyone is invited to join the family-friendly community and enjoy this "lively, traditional social dance". No partners are necessary. All dances are taught in walk-throughs. Participants are asked to wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothes and bring an extra pair of clean, soft-soled shoes for dancing. Hard-soled boots or shoes are not allowed on the dance floor.

There is always a contra basics lesson for newcomers at the beginning of the dance.

For more information visit Chattanooga Contra Dancers on Facebook or email contranooga@gmail.com. The website is http://contranooga.weebly.com/
