Mohawk Serves Holiday Cheer To 75 Dalton National Guard Members And Their Families

  • Monday, December 5, 2016

Active duty members of the military make great sacrifices to serve and often miss family milestones, special occasions and holidays.

To make this season a little brighter for local National Guard members, Mohawk Industries partnered with community organizations to serve a holiday meal for 75 Guard members and their families.

During the event, Mohawk employees provided cookie decorating, door prizes and gift bags for the attendees.

“We are so grateful to our service members and their families who have made great sacrifices on our behalf,” Mohawk Senior Director of Talent Acquisition Paul White said. “Giving back to the communities where we operate is an integral part of our culture at Mohawk, and this was an excellent opportunity to kick off the holidays and show our deep appreciation to local service members.”

Mohawk provides ongoing support to National Guard and Reserve members who work with the company including allowing members to take leave for annual training without penalty.

“Across the company, we have the privilege of working alongside active duty members of the National Guard and Reserve and veterans from all branches of the military,” Mr. White said.  “We know that both our lives and our business have been greatly impacted by them.”

The company actively recruits veterans to fill open positions, and recruiters are equipped to help applicants determine civilian job titles that best correlate with the military’s occupation codes.
