William Roy “ Bill” Lovelace, 82, of Etowah, Tennessee, passed away peacefully Saturday morning, December 3, 2016 at Star Regional Medical Center in Athens.
He retired after 42 years of service for Bowater Southern Paper Corporation.
He was preceded in death by his parents William Jesse Lovelace and Laura Mae DeArmond Lovelace; infant son William Randall Lovelace; and his sister Patsy Lovelace Frye.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mary Ruth Ray Lovelace; his son Jeffrey Alan Lovelace; and granddaughters Sarah Ivy Lovelace and Anna Rae Lovelace; sister-in-law Vernell Ray Sherlin; nieces Cynthia Sherlin Loomis, Laura Frye, Catherine Frye and Libby Frye; nephew Michael Sherlin; and several great-nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 8 at Green Hill Cemetery. There will be no formal visitation at the funeral home.
Serenity Funeral Home and Cremation Center of Etowah is in charge of arrangements.
