William Reynolds
William Darling Reynolds, 91, of Chattanooga, died on Wednesday, November 30, 2016 in the Hospice Care Center.
He was born in Calhoun, Ga., on May 28, 1925 to the late Charlie and Van Bailey Reynolds. He was an avid bowler, the last surviving member of the Big Six League. He was a talented painter, versatile in both charcoal and oils. He was a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Charlie, J. D., and Matthew Reynolds.
Survivors include his daughters, Carolyn (Sherman) Matthews, and Catherine Mumen; son, Michael Reynolds; grandchildren, Mikkael and Wayne Reynolds, Jamal and Matthew Mumen; great-grandchildren, Mikkael Reynolds, Gabriel and Semaj Reynolds, Noah, Jalaya, and Serenity Matia Mumen; sister, Mamie Sewell; brother, Kenneth Reynolds; life-long companion, Alpha Collier; and friend, Thomas Collier; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
He will lie in state on Monday, Dec. 5, at 9 a.m.in the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home with funeral to follow at 1 p.m. at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Gardens.
