Bradley County Woman Involved In Drug Ring Gets 63 Months In Federal Prison

  • Friday, December 2, 2016

Deborah Ruth Haney was sentenced on Monday to serve 63 months in federal prison for selling meth.

She appeared before Judge Sandy Mattice.

Agents said Ms. Haney was in a drug ring with Lena Roberts, Joseph Varnell and others from July 2014 to February 2015.

On Nov. 17, 2014, law enforcement conducted a controlled buy at Ms. Haney's residence in Bradley County. A confidential informant purchased 3.5 grams of meth for $160.

Three days later a search warrant was executed at her house. It turned up 15 grams of meth, $3,866 in cash, digital scales and a drug ledger.

A surveillance system had been set up to monitor incoming traffic.

There was another controlled buy from Ms. Haney on Feb. 11, 2015, when an ounce of meth was purchased from her for $700 at another Bradley County residence.

After her arrest, Ms. Haney admitted selling about 12 ounces of meth a month for the last seven months.
