Raymond Austin Hamilton, Sr., 77, of Rock Spring, Georgia, died on Friday December 9, 2016.

A native of North Attleboro, Ma., he had lived in the North Georgia Chattanooga area since 2002 and was formerly of Pembroke Pines, Fl. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force where he served during the Vietnam War and was a former employee of Advanced Roofing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Carroll Austin and Marilyn Thomasen Hamilton; and brother, Billy Hamilton.

He is survived by his loving wife, Florence Carkey Hamilton of Rock Spring; seven children, Jayne (Gary) Morgan, Wayne Meadows, Ray (Bonita) Hamilton, Jr., Shannon (Robbie) Blackburn, Dustin Hamilton, John (Samantha) Hamilton, and Jeanne (Chris) Maddeaux; brother, Robert Hamilton; two sisters, Ginger and Carol; 16 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 14, at the Chattanooga National Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Arrangements are by Wilson Funeral Home J. Avery Bryan Chapel, Chickamauga.
