William “Bill” J. Lueder, 65, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, passed away on December 9, 2016, peacefully at home with his family.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Lueder, and his parents, Harold and Marion Lueder.

He was born in Port Washington, Wi., and graduated in 1969 from Cedarburg High School.

Bill graduated in 1971 from UW with a degree in farm industry and worked the family’s farm for many years before becoming an exceptional stainless steel polisher employed by Taylor Freeze, Roscoe, Il., for 15 years, then retiring in 2013 after 10 years from UNE in Janesville, Wi.

Norma and Bill traveled with craft shows, where he mastered woodworking and relocated to Chattanooga, after retiring, to be closer to his daughters.

Bill never lost a chance to witness to anybody about his love for his best friend Jesus Christ. He was a member of Red Bank Baptist Church, where he was active in the choir, Sunday School, and the senior group. Bill loved his southern gospel music, NASCAR, Chicago Bears, the rodeo and cruising the Caribbean. He enjoyed cooking, watching the Food Network Channel and spending time with his family.

He loved and cared for his wife for many years before his courageous battle with cancer. Bill had a saying “I have three steps into my house, but once inside I have no stepchildren.”

Bill is survived by his beloved sister, Marguerite (Jim) Brechlin of Neenah, WI; two children, Robin (Mike) Wolfe and Julie (Jeff) Baker all of Chattanooga; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

This great husband, brother, father, grandfather, uncle and friend will be missed by many.

The family will receive friends on Monday, Dec. 19, from 5-7 p.m. at Lane Funeral Home on Ashland Terrace.

A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at 7 p.m. on Monday, in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Sam Greer officiating.

Funeral arrangements have been  entrusted to Lane Funeral Home on Ashland Terrace, 601 Ashland Terrace, Chattanooga, Tn. 37415, www.lanefh.com.
