Travis Puckett
Special agents from the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation have secured indictments for a Monroe, Tn., couple in connection to an ongoing statutory rape case.
At the request of 13th District Attorney General Bryant Dunaway, TBI special agents began investigating Travis and Traci Puckett on Feb. 12, 2015. During the course of the investigation, agents developed information connecting the couple to multiple sexual offenses involving a minor teenage victim that occurred in 2007, while Travis and Traci volunteered at the same church as the alleged victim.
On Monday, the Clay County Grand Jury returned indictments, charging Travis Puckett, 36, with nine counts of statutory rape by an authority figure, and charging Traci Puckett, 46, with four counts of statutory rape by an authority figure. The couple turned themselves in to a TBI agent on Thursdays, at the Clay County Jail where, at the time of this release, Puckett was being held on $45,000 bond, and Ms. Puckett was being held on $20,000 bond.
Thursday’s charges are in addition to three counts of statutory rape by an authority figure and three counts of sexual battery by an authority figure secured by TBI agents for Travis Puckett in Overton County in September, in connection to this ongoing investigation.
