CHS Receives Environmental Program Recognition

Each year Tennessee schools are challenged to showcase their environmental efforts through the Good Sports Always Recycle program.

"Please join us in congratulating this year’s winning schools for their environmental stewardship and recycling leadership among Tennessee’s schools," officials said.
 
The 2016 Good Sports Always RecycleTM winners are:

Abintra Montessori School in Nashville 
Cleveland High School in Cleveland 
Emmett Elementary School in Bristol 
Fayette Academy in Somerville 
John Adams Elementary School in Kingsport 
Linden Elementary School in Oak Ridge 
Midway Middle School in Ten Mile 
Newport Grammar School in Newport 
Union Elementary STEM and Demonstration School in Gallatin 
 
As one of the top school recycling programs in Tennessee, each school will receive $1,000 toward its environmental program. 
 
New Hope Christian Academy in Memphis was awarded the program’s top award—the Sustainability Steward award and will receive $1,500.

 Libertas School of Memphis received the “Best New Program” award and will receive $1,500.  
 
On Nov. 5, these schools will be recognized at the Tennessee vs. Tennessee Tech football game. They will participate in a one-of-a-kind tailgate and will receive recognition on the field during the game.
