Ronald Stephen Axmacher, 82, of Chattanooga, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 25, 2016.

He was a longtime land surveyor in the Chattanooga area before retiring at Niles Surveying Company.  

He was predeceased by his parents, George David and Susie Mae Coleman Axmacher Lane; and sister, Nancy Angela Axmacher McBurnett.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Kay Fox Axmacher, children, Gary Axmacher, Barry Axmacher, Rhonda Hollis, and Beth Lillard, 10 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.  

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 29, at 1 p.m. at Eastwood Church, 4300 Ooltewah-Ringgold Road, Ooltewah, Tn. 37363, with a meal to follow.  

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to his wife, Kay at 1226 Vance Road, Chattanooga, Tn. 37421.
