Boooo! It’s Halloween time this weekend and the ghosts, goblins and spooks will be out in force in the Scenic City. It’s a fun time and there are lots of events planned for Chattanooga music lovers.
Friday night, Here Come The Mummies (HCTM) kicks off the Halloween weekend in Chattanooga at Track 29. This is one of the best shows of the year, with the boys in bandages coming to town with their unique brand of funk. If you like horns, percussion, and an incredibly tight band, then this is the show for you. HCTM will leave their many Grammy awards at home, but bring the talent it took to win the coveted awards.
This band isn’t in costume for this party, either. They are actually several thousand years old and are real mummies. The smell alone will confirm that. They wander the Earth, bringing funky music to the new world. Rumor has always had it that they are highly regarded studio musicians, but I find that doubtful, as they mostly sleep during the daytime.
For a sample of their music, go to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jR2QJNC2h2o .
Tickets are still available, although this show will be a sellout. You can get them at http://track29.co/event.cfm?id=240283&cart.
I rate this show a full 5 stars – A don’t miss event.
I’ll see you out!
