Farmers Insurance and Henry Stockman Agency gifted Project Healing Waters with $2500 in grant money in support of disabled veterans.
Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing, Inc. is a non-profit organization that started in 2005, serving wounded military service members. Their mission is dedicated to the physical and emotional rehabilitation of disabled veterans through fly fishing and associated activities including education and outings. Local meetings for the program are held at Audobon Acres the first Thursday of each month at 6:30 p.m.
“Fly fishing can be instrumental in the healing process,” said Henry Stockman, contributor of Project Healing Waters grant,“The leaders and volunteers of the Chattanooga program are some of the best instructors in the sport and their heart for improving the welfare of veterans is unsurpassed.”
This program began in 2005, and has expanded nationwide, establishing its highly successful program in Department of Defense hospitals, Warrior Transition Units, and Veterans Affairs Medical Centers and clinics.
