City Police Sgt. Crider On Paid Leave While Domestic Assault Charges Against Him Are Investigated

Chattanooga Police Sgt. Marvin Scott Crider has been relieved of his law enforcement duties while the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office investigates charges filed against him.

The charges of alleged domestic abuse were brought by his ex-girlfriend, who is also a city police officer.

Matt Lea of the Sheriff's Office said, "The HCSO has been requested by the Hamilton County District Attorney to investigate this matter. Any questions regarding the investigation should be directed to the HC District Attorney's Office."

Sgt. Crider is currently on paid administrative leave.

He has been with the Chattanooga Police Department since March 22, 1996.
