Eaves, John Ervin Sr. (Decatur)

John Ervin Eaves, Sr., 82, of Decatur, Tennessee, passed away Tuesday morning, October 18, 2016 at a local hospital. 

He was a graduate of Kirkman High School and retired as a painter instructor with TVA where he was employed at Watts Bar Nuclear Plant.  John was a veteran of the United States Army and served during the Korean Conflict.  He was a member of the American Legion Post 81 and a 50 year member of the Cleveland Masonic Lodge 134 F&AM.  John was also a member of Pine Hill Cumberland Presbyterian Church. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill Eaves and Alma Ruth Eaves Smith; and two brothers, Ernest Eaves and Bob Eaves.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Dean Eaves of Decatur; sons, John Eaves, Jr. and Houston Scott Eaves, both of Decatur; grandson, Houston Anthony Eaves of Cleveland; great-granddaughter, Jessica Kathryn Eaves; sister, Wanda Sue McChann of Tulsa, OK; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Friday, October 21, 2016 in the chapel of Fike-Randolph & Son Funeral Home with Pastor Chris Eaves officiating.  Interment will follow in Pine Hill Cumberland Presbyterian Church Cemetery in McDonald with military honors.  John Eaves, Scott Eaves, Anthony Eaves, Richie Ownby, Chris Eaves and Marc Skinner will serve as pallbearers. 

Fike-Randolph & Son Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.
