Woman Carjacked Across From Erlanger Hospital

Police have arrested Joshua Merciers after a woman said he took her car that was parked across East Third Street from Erlanger Hospital.

Merciers, 26, of 1819 E. 26th St., is charged with carjacking.

In the incident in the 1100 block of East Third, the woman said when she came out of a medical building that she saw a man trying to drive her car. She said he was having trouble with the stick shift.

She said he ordered her into the car and she drove him to the Chatt Inn, where he got out.

Erlanger security recognized the man and the woman picked him out of a picture lineup.
