Amy Boulware will give a presentation on Medicare, insurance supplements and the future of Medicare on Monday, Oct. 24, 3 p.m. in the youth center at Christ United Methodist Church.
Boomers, Shakers, and Beyond is a community enrichment program designed for adults 50 + focusing on mind, body, and spirit. The program is designed for learning new things, enhancing old skills, exchanging thoughts on numerous topics, meeting new people, participating in community service projects, and in general having a great time, said Ms. Boulware.
Ms. Boulware has 22 years of experience advocating for and serving elders and their families. She is a Tennessee Licensed Advance Practice Social Worker and said she believes it is crucial to focus on assisting her clients with staying as independent as possible, while understanding that as people age, needs change.
Ms. Boulware is a nationally sought after speaker on issues of aging and disability and most recently has taught for Southern Adventist University’s Social Work and Nursing graduate schools. She has served on the Tennessee Governor’s Commission on Aging and is the former president of the State of Tennessee Health Care Social Work Association. Ms. Boulware is the co-author of the Senior Survival Guide: An Information System Made Simple as well as the author of a monthly social work column.
