Ruby Mae Farris Brown, 88, of Cleveland, Tennessee, passed away Wednesday, September 2, 2015 in a local hospital.
She was the daughter of the late Frank and Tinia E. McClanahan Farris; and was also preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Clyde William Brown; her sisters, Marie Brown, Dorothy Farris and Blossie Crisp; her brothers, Hooper Farris, James Farris, Ed Farris, Raymond Farris, Jack Farris and Walter Pete Farris.
Ruby attended Washington Ave. Baptist Church and was retired from J.H. Kellman with over 12 years of service.
Survivors include her children, Pat Stokes and her husband George and Joe Brown and his wife Wanoka all of Cleveland; grandchildren, Michelle Floyd, Basheia Christian and Shemayah Heron; great-grandchildren, Nathan and Gaige Floyd and Chloe and Kelty Heron; and several nieces and nephews.
A Remembrance of Life service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 5 at Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services, Wildwood Ave. Chapel with Rev. Rob Works, Rev. Ronnie Ledford and Joe Brown officiating. The interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Tim Floyd, Nathan Floyd, Gaige Floyd, Charles Heron, Robert Christian and Robert Stokes serving as casket bearers.
The family will receive friends Friday, Sept. 4 from 5-8 p.m. at the Wildwood Ave. Chapel of the Jim Rush Funeral Home, who has charge of the arrangements.
