Latino Taste Festival Is Saturday In Dalton

  • Wednesday, September 30, 2015

The Coalition of Latino Leaders, CLILA, will hold its second Latino Taste Festival on Saturday in downtown Dalton.  There will be traditional authentic Latino Food from different regions of Mexico and other countries like Perú, Venezuela, Guatemala, El Salvador, Nicaragua and more.

The venue will be at 305 Depot St., next to Freight Depot between Cuyler and Morris Street.

Latino food vendors will start serving at noon and they will continue until 8 p.m.  Guests can also enjoy traditional music and dances performed by groups from different Latin American countries and regions.

The festival is a result of a community effort, with people who are cooking and showcasing dishes from their hometown.  Dalton is a diverse city, where a Latino population thrives and contributes in many aspects to the fabric of the city, said officials. Most Latinos in Dalton are from Mexico (about 85 percent), but there are many other countries represented, such as Guatemala, El Salvador, Colombia, Venezuela, Perú, Puerto Rico, Chile, República Dominicana, Honduras, Nicaragua and many more.
