Erlanger Offers Classes And Events For Oct. 5-11

Erlanger offers online childbirth education class.  The online class is an easy-to-understand interactive program that includes more than 70 videos, animated illustrations, downloadable PDF files, review quizzes and information specific to Erlanger East and Erlanger Baroness birthing services.  By choosing the online childbirth program, participants will have access to all the information for six months.  The cost for the courses is $25.

Monday, October 5

Bariatric Support Group

5:30 – 6:30 p.m.

Erlanger East (Gunbarrel Road)

Bariatric Support Group meetings are for individuals scheduled to have Bariatric surgery or who have already had weight loss surgery.  Call Erlanger’s HealthLink at (423) 778-LINK (5465) for more information.

 

Overactive Bladder and Its Treatments

6:00-7:00 p.m.

Erlanger East (Gunbarrel Road)

This session is a review of overactive bladder (OAB) and includes information on various treatments.  It will feature a discussion from Erlanger’s leading urologists, a patient who will share his/her experience with OAB and a question and answer session.  The information session is free and open to the public and current patients of the OAB clinic.  Call Erlanger’s HealthLink at (423) 778-LINK (5465) for more information or to register.

Baby Care & Safety

6:30 – 8:45 p.m.

Erlanger East (Gunbarrel Road)

With times changing and discharge occurring earlier, “Baby Care” provides you with helpful items on caring for your baby at home.  This class will help you plan and prepare for a safe home environment.  Registration fee is $25.  Call Erlanger’s HealthLink at (423) 788-LINK (5465) to register. 

 

Thursday, October 8

Diabetes Education Class

1:30 – 4:30 p.m.

Erlanger Chattanooga Lifestyle Center

This class will explore ways to manage diabetes.  Call 778-9400 for more information on physician referral and insurance reimbursement. 

 

Male Urinary Leakage and Erectile Dysfunction

6:00 p.m.

Erlanger East (Gunbarrel Road)

As many as 30 million men in the United States experience incontinence and/or erectile dysfunction.  Many cases go undiagnosed or are not even discussed with physicians due to men being uncomfortable discussing their health concerns.  This session will allow men to hear about these common medical conditions and learn what advancements are available for treatments such as minimally-invasive solutions to regain intimacy and restore control. Childbirth Education

9:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

Erlanger East (Gunbarrel Rd.)

This childbirth education class/series is designed for expectant parents and taught by experienced OB nurses.  These classes include stages of labor, relaxation and labor support techniques, hospital procedures, pain management options, after birth and home care for moms and in-hospital care for newborns.  There will also be time for questions and answers.  Registration fee is $75.  Call Erlanger’s HealthLink at (423) 778-LINK (5465) to register.
