Volunteers are busy partnering with UCTV-3 and Newschannel 9 for the inaugural Santa’s FUNd Fest to raise money for the Stockings Full of Love program. Catoosa and Walker County Sheriff’s departments have depended on the generosity of the community to make Christmas a reality for needy children for over 25 years and community support is needed again.
Judy O’Neal, owner of UCTV-3 and Tootie’s Treasures, has given on air support to raise money for the two programs for many years. “I wanted to change things up and give the community an event to enjoy while supporting Stockings Full of Love.”
The result is a day for the entire family filled with arts, crafts and merchandise booths, yard sale booths, inflatables for the kids to play on, live entertainment and food. One hundred percent of all vendor fees, sponsorships and donations made that day will benefit Catoosa and Walker County Stockings Full of Love.
Churches, civic clubs, school groups and businesses are invited to join in by sponsoring a booth and providing activities for the children to enjoy, donate homemade items for the bake sale, volunteer to work, have a raffle item at a booth and donate the proceeds, promote Santa’s FUNd Fest on Facebook pages, put reminders in church bulletins or post flyers at local companies.
The event will take place on Saturday, Oct.10 on Fort Oglethorpe’s Polo Field from 8 a.m.-4 p.m.
