Robert Hansel
Robert E. Hansel, 48, of Chattanooga, died at his residence on Tuesday, September 1, 2015.
Robert was a native of Chattanooga, born on May 25, 1967. He graduated with a degree in musical performance from UTC and went on to receive a master of music degree under the direction of the Cuban master, Mario Abril. He had been an active member of the Chattanooga Bach Choir since August of 2005 and joined the chancel choir of Chattanooga’s Second Presbyterian Church in April 2006, where he was a chorister and guitarist. Robert was a guitar instructor at Cadek Conservatory of Music and was an adjunct faculty member at Cleveland State Community College, giving private instruction in classical guitar.
Robert was preceded in death by his father, John B. Hansel, Jr.
He will be greatly missed by those who survive him, including his wife, Angie Quaranto; mother, Maggie Hansel; and brother: John B. Hansel III (Lori); nieces, Sara Anne Hansel and Laney Hansel; and nephew, Thomas Hansel.
Robert’s family will receive friends from 1-3 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 5, at 2nd Presbyterian Church, with memorial services to follow at 3 p.m., also at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to 2nd Presbyterian Church.
