  • Wednesday, September 2, 2015

Luken Communications has announced the addition of Small Town Big Deal to Heartland’s programming lineup.  The series will debut on Heartland Thursday at 3 p.m.  Encore presentations will run every Saturday at 3:30 p.m.

Small Town Big Deal is a half-hour series hosted by former Entertainment Tonight reporter and weekend anchor Jann Carl and the series’ creator Rodney Miller. Each week, Jann and Rodney will travel the country to bring us stories from America’s Heartland, discovering the people, places and events that form the heart and soul of small town America. Journey along with us as Jann and Rod visit locations like Nashville’s most famous café where the biscuits really are legendary, Mackinac Island where no automobiles are allowed and the northern tip of Cape Cod with their famous Wellfleet Oysters.

Matthew Golden, Luken’s vice president of Programming, said, “Small Town Big Deal represents the spirit of The Heartland Network. As The Heart of Country, we’re thrilled to have a part in bringing the stories of every day America into the homes of viewers across the country.”

Heartland officially debuted in 2013 with programming comprised of syndicated and first run shows along with digitally restored content pulled from the vaults of Music Row, creating a country music and lifestyle experience that brings delight to lovers of every generation and genre.  The program lineup includes The Rick & Bubba Show, Bluegrass Ridge, Country Fix, Country Standard Time, Music City Tonight, Texas Music Scene, Gaither Gospel Hour, classic episodes of Crook & Chase and several popular music video blocks including Country Music Today and Country Music Rewind.
