Arnold L. Hickman, Jr., 76, of Ooltewah, died peacefully at home on September 1, 2015.

Born Feb. 13, 1939, in Chattanooga, Mr. Hickman was a 1957 graduate of Chattanooga High School.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving as a military policeman. Upon his return from the Army, Arnold worked for State Farm Insurance Company as a claims adjustor until his retirement in 1999.

Arnold was an avid antique car enthusiast and was a member of the Brainerd Lions Club for 41 years where he had served as president and various other club positions. He played sing-a-long music at Shakey’s Pizza Place for several years.

From the early age of 13, Arnold sang in church choirs, where he was a member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church, later joining Woodland Park Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arnold L. and Gladys Hickman.

Survivors are his wife, Marty (Martha Sue) Hickman;  son, Chris Hickman, Cary, IL,  daughter, Martina Wilson, Harrison;  step-son, Tom (Charleen) Heath, Seminole, FL;  six grandchildren, Sarah and Maggie Hickman, Taylor Wilson, Jeremy, Jessica and Justin Heath; and several cousins.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, Sept. 4, at 11:30 a.m. at Woodland Park Baptist Church with Dr. Wayne Barber officiating. A graveside service will precede the funeral service at 10:30 a.m. on Friday at the Chattanooga National Cemetery.
