Public Sessions Available To Paint The M.L. King Mural Every Wednesday In August

  • Tuesday, August 4, 2015

Public Art Chattanooga has created sessions throughout the month of August so the community can help make history by painting the M.L. King District Mural. Since June, muralist Meg Saligman and the team of local apprentices have been scaling the sides of the AT&T building to keep moving forward on this project.

The 40,000-square-foot mural will be the largest work by Ms. Saligman, who has created public murals around the world. Throughout August,Wednesday evenings are dedicated to public paint sessions, where the community can work on the mural in paint-by-numbers style on a canvas. Later, the mural team will adhere the pieces to the AT&T building. Public paint sessions are available on the following Wednesdays in August:

August 5, 12, 19 and 26, 3:30 – 6:30 p.m.
Chattanooga Public Library 4th Floor
1001 Broad St.
Chattanooga, TN 37402

The M.L. King District Mural project is organized by Public Art Chattanooga and the City of Chattanooga. It’s made possible through a partnership with AT&T, Sherwin Williams, and generous funding from the Benwood and Lyndhurst Foundations.
