Hamilton Place Hosts Quilt Week Event To Benefit The Next Door Chattanooga

For the second year in a row, Hamilton Place officials announced they will host a special event in correlation with AQS Quilt Week on Thursday, Sept. 17 to benefit local nonprofit, The Next Door Chattanooga.

The ‘VIP Block Party’ on Sept. 17 from 6-8 p.m. will feature samples from local area restaurants, raffle items and tastings of select Tennessee wines. Tasting tickets will be .50 cents each or attendees can purchase a punch card for 11 tastes for $5.  Attendees can also vote for the ‘Viewer’s Choice’ winner from “A 4 Patch Celebration” quilts on display now through Sept.
27 on the lower level of the mall near Center Court.  For those taking part in the AQS Quilt Week events downtown, complimentary shuttle service from downtown hotels to Hamilton Place mall will be available throughout the evening. 

“I’m looking forward to once again welcoming thousands of people to Chattanooga,” said local quilter Sandi Suggs, an organizer of the event. “I encourage attendees and all community members to attend this unique event, which benefits a life-changing organization in the community.”

All entry fees and other proceeds will be donated to The Next Door Chattanooga, a nonprofit dedicated to serving women in crisis. "The Next Door Chattanooga’s Correctional Release Center focuses on bringing lasting change to the lives of female felony offenders, their families and the communities of East Tennessee. The CRC provides a range of services designed to meet the physical, spiritual, emotional and mental health needs of its clients." officials said.

“Their decision to choose The Next Door Chattanooga as the recipient of these funds speaks volumes about Hamilton Place and its vision,” said Rebekah Bohannon, The Next Door’s regional assistant director for East Tennessee. “We hope our organization’s mission inspires people to show up and support the event."
