St. Andrew’s-Sewanee Gallery is hosting the work of David Andrews and Judith Condon through Oct. 1.

A reception celebrating their exhibition will be held at the SAS Gallery on Sunday, Sept. 27, from 2-4 p.m. The public is invited to attend.

Ms. Condon holds a BFA in drawing and painting from the University of Georgia and an MFA in drawing and ceramics from the University of Tennessee.  Ms. Condon currently lives in Chattanooga, where she maintains a ceramics studio, raises her two children, and teaches art at the Baylor School. Despite her busy life, she maintains an active exhibition schedule, including both group and solo exhibitions. She recently participated in an invitational show at the Hunter Museum of American Art and has had several solo exhibitions in regional academic institutions. In 2008 she was the recipient of the Tennessee Arts Commission grant in sculpture and a participant in the National Council for the Education of Ceramic Art Biennial Exhibition. To see some of Ms. Condon's work, visit her website at www.judycondon.com

Mr. Andrews began photographing in high school. Rather than going to a traditional four-year university, Mr. Andrews worked for two years in Ireland and then studied for another two years in Germany. This transition from the familiar to foreign forever changed the way he reads, listens, and sees. He left school in his fourth year of work on a Ph.D. in Experimental Psychology to work as a photo editor in magazine publishing and eventually network television. After 10 years of assigning and directing photography, he left again. This time he headed for Chattanooga, parenthood, and freelance work. To see some of Mr. Andrews’ work, see his website at www.davidandrewsphotography.com.

Mr. Andrews and Ms. Condon will each offer a daylong workshop on Saturday, Sept. 26, from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. For details and to register please contact SAS Gallery Director Molly Schaefer.

Gallery Hours are Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.–3 p.m., and by appointment. Contact Ms. Schaefer at 931.598-5651 extension 3151 or sasgallery@sasweb.org for more information.
