County Commissioner Marty Haynes Sets Announcement For Assessor Race

County Commissioner Marty Haynes is set to announce Monday night his campaign for assessor of property.

The Elect Marty Haynes Campaign set the announcement for 6:30 p.m. at Creeks Bend Golf Course.

It is located at 5900 Hixson Pike in Hixson.

Assessor Bill Bennett is not seeking re-election.

The election for a four-year term will be next March.

Other possible candidates include County Commissioners Tim Boyd and Jim Fields as well as Sterling Jetton, who formerly worked in the assessor's office.

Commissioner Haynes has held the District 3 seat since Jim Coppinger moved up to county mayor.
